RaceMAX Direct returned to Willowbank for a weekend of drag racing at the annual Gulf Western Oil Winternationals held in Ipswich, Queensland. The event was a great way to welcome the long weekend, taking place over four massive days from the 9th to 12th of June. With more than 35,000 attendees, 360 competing teams and $185, 000 in prize money on the line, this was an event not to be missed.

From Junior Dragsters to Nitro Funny Cars, competitors tore up the strip in the hopes of qualifying and placing within their division. Two RaceMAX Direct clients top qualified and won their brackets on the final day of racing. We’d like to congratulate Simon Barlow (SA) and Steve Fowler (NSW) on their wins, taking home Modified Eliminator and Top Sportsman awards, respectively.

Both cars were fitted with APD carbs, competing with precision and consistency in all their runs. They were also the best performing cars in their bracket which is a massive achievement – well done boys!

Attending on behalf of RaceMAX Direct, this trip was a mix of business and pleasure as George took the opportunity to chat to competitors, suppliers and clients. Many thanks to those who joined our Facebook Live and got involved at the racetrack.
